Using our Phase Drives

Wide Variety of Mounting Positions

A. Fischer Phase Drives are available in a wide variety of optional mounting positions and shaft arrangements, as well as customer specific modifications. Each unit is available in horizontal, vertical, or inverted mounting positions.

Easy to Install

Cut into any existing line shaft with the A. Fischer Phase Drive, couple the driving and driven shafts at either end, and you have instant adjustment of the relationship of the input and output shafts.

Manual or Electric Operation

Unlimited instantaneous adjustments to the input-output shaft relationships, thru the entire 360 degree, are easily made by simply turning the adjustment shaft at the top of the unit. To advance or retard the position of the output shaft, the adjustment shaft can be turned either clockwise or counterclockwise. Once the adjustment is made, a self retaining "lock-in" feature eliminates all possibility of drift.

Adjustment can be made "On-the-Fly" or while motionless, manually by means of a wheel, knob or lever mounted on the shaft, or connected at some distance by flexible shaft or universal joint arrangement.

For automatic or remote operation, A. Fischer Phase Drives offers a variety of optional Motor-Packs to electronically rotate the adjustment shaft.

Input and output shafts revolve in either direction. On the inline Phase Drives both shafts turn the same way. On our 90 Degree Phase Drives, the shafts can turn the same way or opposite, depending on the customer's requirements. A. Fischer Phase Drives also have the added inherent ability to be used as speed reducers in a 4:1 ratio. Depending on the model selected, the Phase Drive is also available in a 2:1 and 1:1 ratio.
